Doctors from Chinese Jinan had to consider risky surgery on a patient who had a knife in his skull for more than 20 years.
Tuo-z’-tie, a 67-year-old farmer from Haien in Qinghai Province, China, suffered a serious head injury in 1994 when he was the victim of a robbery. Miraculously, he survived a knife attack in the head, but the blade remained in the skull.

His doctors prescribed him only painkillers, and no one really dealt with the knife in his head for many reasons. The doctors were afraid of the operation and therefore the patient was prescribed sedatives. Over time, the patient’s condition began to deteriorate. The senior could no longer see with his right eye and stopped moving his left hand and foot with headaches. Plus, he couldn’t laugh, yawn, or cough.

The operation to remove the broken blade took place at a hospital in Jinan. Although it was a very risky operation that could cripple the patient for life, according to the team of doctors, there was no other way. The operation lasted several hours and seemed to be very successful because the patient could walk, the headaches disappeared and even returned sight to the right eye. It is unbelievable how much medicine medicine has and thanks to it it has helped a senior to a better and happier life.
