The Mayor in Berlin Voluntarily Got Infected With a Coronavirus

The mayor of Berlin-Mitte, Stephan von Dassel, has provoked a great controversy when he admitted to being voluntarily infected by his partner. Reason? He wanted to gain immunity as soon as possible so that he could continue working while others were ill.

The idea is quite controversial because he broke the German government’s orders and voluntarily let himself be infected so that he could pursue his work duties after healing. But as he himself admits, it wasn’t such a good idea because he underestimated the disease.

Dassel is now in quarantine with her partner and intends to stay there until she is healthy. He assumed that he would lie only for a few days at home, but the disease had a worse course and therefore are under the supervision of doctors. It is far from true that the virus is dangerous only for the elderly. Younger people and even toddlers are dying of it.
