This Cat Replaced The Guide Dog

In 1947, LIFE magazine photographer documented Carolyn Swanson and her Persian cat Baby, who accompanied the blind woman.
Thanks to her, she could move not only in the house, but also on the street where there was busy traffic.

For this unusual behavior and heroic deed, the cat received its medal. This article didn’t end up in the magazine, but we know that the cat did it out of love for her mistress and not for the audience. But you can see some of them with us.
